On Wednesday afternoon, I bought a pair of dressmaking scissors. I decided later they were not what I wanted and returned them to the store the following morning. The lady that served me was extremely rude and accused me of using scissors and taking them back. She tested the scissors and found they were blunt. Thank goodness I took them back to store. I was visiting Stratford overnight and I live a 2 hr drive away. I asked for a refund and she refused telling me i could have a credit note only and it had to because that day. I felt extremely upset at the way I was treated. I have shopped in that store on several occasions but will never shop there again. You don’t deserve my business.
I went into this shop to buy fabric for a quilt I’m having made. Since I’m new to the process, I asked for guidance on how much fabric I’d need for a certain pattern. Unfortunately, one staff member was extremely rude and spoke to me like I was stupid. Considering I would have been spending well over $400 on fabric, I cannot support a business that treats customers this way. My goal was to support local, but not after this. On top of that, the store is overcrowded and cluttered, making it difficult to navigate and certainly not accessible.
This place is amazing. They have so much fabric. It was a little clasterfobic! You can not use a walker or walking aids in this store. It is not handicap accessible. But amazing store.
Inside awaits you an hour or more, of being awestruck. From floor to ceiling are the most unique fabric rolls I’ve ever seen. They specialize in fabrics for making quilts, with every tool available and needles one might need. The racks are themed for every seasonal and special occasion. Halloween,? December Happy Holidays, weddings, anniversaries, cottage parties, beach camping, birthdays to name a few of the occasions. Quilting for baby showers, guest rooms, teens and children - so many to choose from. Best to start with one room, spend 30 minutes to get to the end and then go back to the favourites and bring that to the cutting table. Fabrics are measured and cut very accurately. I have never seen that before, other fabric stores can certainly learn from this. Thanks Alma for the demonstration. It’s an amazing experience for every sewing enthusiast and seamstress. People come from afar to see what they’ve been told, leave highly satisfied with a promise to return soon.
Sadly too jam packed to actually move in there. Not so friendly staff but met some fun quilters. There seems to be little or no rhyme nor reason to fabric organization.
Yowza! What fabric heaven did I walk into?! Stunning fabrics, colours, textures, displays.. what more could a girl ask for? My creativity has been amped up! I will be back soon ❤️
I purchased over $200 worth of fabric from Cheryl for which she charged over $20 for delivery. (Most other shops give free delivery for orders of this size.) I never received the package and called Cheryl. She has a picture of a package by my door - but I never received it. She chose to refund me in full which was appreciated.
